ur first meeting at the new time of 8:00 AM. President George Bryant opened the meeting with prayer. Present was President Bryant and Tom the Assistant House Manager of Frontline Ministry at 1708 Luning Drive. Tim Berends and Pastor Scott Renkes had said, at the last meeting, they had previous commitments and wouldn't be able to make the meeting.
Michael Kelly called and told President Bryant an emergency came up and he wouldn't be able to attend the meeting. George invited Tom to attend the meeting and explained our meetings are open to everyone as you don't have to be a business man. George shared the vision with Tom and his testimony. He asked Tom if he had anything to share and Tom gave his testimony. It was a good meeting as the fellowship is built on testimony.
George shared with Tom that he believed this meeting was the way God intended it to be as it was a chance to know Tom better and he to know us. I don't think that would have happened at a regular meeting. Praise The Lord.
9:00 AM: Tom closed the meeting with prayer and George adjourned the meting.
he meeting started at 8:00 AM and present were George Bryant, Scott Renkes and his friend Dan. We discussed the need to find a permanent meeting place as we would only be able to meet at Frontline Ministries until December. it was decided we would look for a meeting place in the coming week and make a report at the next meeting.
The meeting was closed with prayer at 9:05 AM
he meeting was opened at 8:00 AM and present were president George Bryant and Tom, the assistant house manager. Scott Renkes had called at 7:00 AM and said he had been called to work and couldn't attend the meeting. Tom said he was in the hospitol last week and that is why he wasn't at the meeting.
Tom, and I, discussed the need for commitment as it wasn't practical to book a restaurant meeting until there was a strong commitment on the part of the members as most restaurants want a guarantee. Tom and I discussed that it is was time to find out who the core group was going to be. After prayer, and seeking The Lords direction, we decided that unless there were 10 members by December, who had been faithful to the last 6 weekly meetings, we should think abaout the future of BMF Chapter 67.
I realize men have many commitments and sometimes have too much on their plate, but it is time to find those people who can commit to the vision. I know this may mean a sacrifice but this is an "Outreach Ministry" and not a "Social Club". I feel if we can't find 10 men then Las Vegas does not want a BMF Chapter. After all, if we are not having the attendabnce at the weekly prayer meetings, why should we assume the arrendance wouild improve just because we have booked a breakfast or lunch meeting?
Please consider your future with the fellowship.
he meeting started at 9:00 AM and present were Sott Renkes, Tom , and George Bryant. We talked about what had been decided from the week before about the deadline as to the meeting and the future of the BMF in Las Vegas. I asked what had happened to the 36 original people who were at the first meeting and he said he has called several times and they seem to have many other commitments. It seems that they were interested enough in attending in the begining so we wondered what happened to cause them not to return.
I guess we'll really never know.
was scheduled to speak at the B. M. F. Chapter in Beatty but during the week the Lord impressed me this is not the time to be attending other meetings as we're trying to organize the fellowship here in Las Vegas.
This past Friday I had a call from a man who was looking for fellowship. He had heard about the B M F from a friend of his and wanted to know if we were still meeting at Skinny Dugans. I told him we hadn't met there in over two years and gave him the new address. He said he would meet me there in the morning.
I called Scott Renkes to let him know that I would be at the meeting and he told me that he had not planned to attend as he knew I wasn't going to be there. I told him about the telephone call I had just received, from someone would be attending the meeting, and wanted to know if there would be someone to open the door for us. Scott said he would make arrangements for the door to be open so we could meet.
But when I arrived at the home the door was locked and I was unable to arouse anyone to open the door for me so I sat in my car and waited for Bob (the new person). He drove up about 8:15 AM and I explained the situation to him. I invited him to have breakfast with me and we drove to the Fiesta. Bob shared some of the things he was going through with me and I explained the vision of the fellowship.
After breakfast we returned to our cars and I had prayer with him I told Bob to call me at any time as he didn't have to wait for a meeting. I was glad that I had been there for Bob as I realized "this is the vision God gave to Demos for the fellowship".
